NH His will. dated 21 Aug. 1817. proved 13 Apr. 1820. names a sister Ruth Atwood. brothers Benjamin and Moses. and a Hannah Bodwell. A son. Joseph. is named executor.

-175- BENJAMIN, b. 20 Apr. 1755: d. in Landaff, NH 23 Feb. 1828. ae 72. a farmer. He and his brother Moses joined the revolutionary Army after the battle of Lexington-Concord on Apr. 18. 1775: at the battle of Saratoga 19 Sept. - 7 Oct. 1777. he had a thumb on one hand shot off. Creasy lists Saratoga in his "Fifteen Decisive Battles of the World". After the war. he and his brothers Moses and Joseph settled in Landaff; he m. in Bath. NH 8 Feb. 1787 Sally Jackman. b. in Bath in 1768: d. in Bath 8 Nov. 1853. ae 85.

About 1817 they moved to Coventry (now called Benton) NH
