FIFTH GENERATION
-127- NATHAN, b. 21 Oct. 1739; d. before 1790 census; m. in Falmouth, Me. 24 Dec. 1767 Deborah Babb b. 1734. They lived for a while in Gray, then Hallowell, finally in New Gloucester, Me. In the census of 1790 there appears the name of Phoebe Knight of New Gloucester, with a family of two males and 4 females under age 16. Evidently a mistake by the census taker, and the name should be Deborah. She m. (2) in New Gloucester 26 Feb. 1796 James Bishop, b. in Ipswich, Ma., as his 3rd wife. She seems to have outlived her 2nd husband and to have resumed the name of Knight. "Mrs. Deborah Knight died in Sumner, Me. June 1839. Had she lived until July 19, she would have completed her 105th year". Maine Farmer 1839.
