He had a farm in Otisfield for many years, which he sold only a few weeks before his death. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters from his mother's second marriage.

-2189- GEORGE H., b. 5 Nov. 1842; d. in Portland, Me. 17 Aug. 1921, ae 78, unm. He served two years in Co. E. 10th Maine Inf. Regt. and after the Civil War, he served five years in Gen. Custer's famous 7th Cavalry; took part in the Indian canpaigns in the northwest, but left the Army a short time before the Custer massacre. He lived on his father's place with his sister Hattie and her husband, and never married.

-2190- JOSEPH L., b. 26 Aug. 1844: d. in Portland, Me. 5 Feb. 1926, ae 81; m. 24 Dec. 1896 Annie F. Durrell. b. in Norway, Me. 8 July 1953; d. in Portland 23 Feb. 1926, ae 72. He served in the Civil War in Co. G. 10th Maine Inf. Regt. and was wounded at Antietam. He was the manager of the Portland City Hospital for 35 years.
