There is some uncertainty concerning these dates and the name of his mother, as some researchers believe that Elizabeth Vincent was his mother. He d. in Newbury, Ma. 27 Feb. 1678, ae abt 55. He came to America with his parents in 1635; m. in Newbury ca 1647 his stepsister, Bathsheba Ingersoll, daughter of Ann, b. ca 1622 In Sandys, Bedforshire, Eng.; d. In Newbury 24 Oct. 1705, ae abt 83, he was made a constable in 1654, a selectman In 1668, a sgt. of the militia in 1666 and an ensign in 1669.

-4- SARAH, b. In Romsey, Eng. ca 1631; d. in Newbury, MA. ca 1717, ae 86; m. 6 Mar. 1659 John Bartlett, cordwainer (leather worker), b. ca 1639; d. 13 Jan. 1707, ae 68. He was the son of John and Joan Bartlett, who came to Newbury in 1635.

Issue: - both were b. in Newbury.

-5- MARY, b. in Romsey, Eng. 10 Aug. 1634; d. ca 1720-25; m. in Newbury 9 July 1660 Joseph Downer, b. ca 1635; d. ca 1715. Joseph came to Newbury with his mother ca 1650 during Cromwell's War. she was Hannah Vincent, a Huguenot from Paris, who escaped from France to England with her brother, a Protestant minister, during the persecutions. In England she met and m. Robert Downer. Mary moved to Norwich, Conn. after her husband d., and lived there with her son Joseph until her death. "Old Mrs. Downer admitted to West Farms church in Norwich 1 Nov. 1719" - Downers of America, page 18.
