He was in the grocery business in Portland for a few years, then became a publisher and spent most of his life in New York and Washington, D. C., where for some years he was Sec. of the Colonization Society, that founded the state of Liberia. Ruth d. when the children were young, and he m. (2) at ae 70

From the Portland Christian Mirror of July 16, 1829: 'Died in Falmouth on Friday morning last, Ezra Knight, ae 28, son of Oliver Knight. His death was caused by a fall from the lower floor into the cellar of a building he had been erecting. He received a severe blow on the head against a stone, and survived about 34 hours.'

carpenter, widower. He m. (1) Mary Warren; m. (2), at Boston 5 April 1855, Harriet (Ouimby)
