-700- NATHANIEL b. 7 Dec. 1816; d. 20 Oct. 1856, ae 39; m. 5 June 1842 Columbia Swett, b. 1823, d. at Red Bluff, Ca. in 1892, ae 69. He and his brother Merrill both taught school in town and served on the school board. They were prominent members of the Light Infantry, a company of the Home Militia, in the 1840's. Columbia had literary talent and was a poetess. After Nathaniel d. , his wife and children moved to Glencoe, Minn., then settled in Red Bluff in 1874.
